The Integrated Mixer is available through the Effects menu and is also displayed under the Sample panel when adding many effects, allowing you to control how these are blended into the existing audio. It has the following options:
Mix allows you to choose how audio will mix together. The options are ⬇ (insert), which will shift the waveform to the right and adds the new audio before the original selection; 🔃Replace, which will remove the original audio and replace it with the new audio; and +Mix, which will mix the new audio with the original audio.
All three Mix settings have controls to adjust the number of repeats and crossfade of the mixed sections. The +Mix option also has controls to adjust the gain and balance between the two pieces of audio which are being mixed.
Loudness allows you to adjust the volume of your audio and has three options. Apply Gain will adjust the gain based on the chosen settings and includes settings for Relative, Absolute and Peak Normalise. Match Existing Loudness will match the loudness of the original section of audio (this will not be available when Mix – Insert is used as there is no existing audio to base the gain on). Match Surrounding Loudness will take the loudness from the surrounding audio and can be adjusted to take more or less influence from audio before and after in the waveform.
In each of the three loudness options, gain can be set using either RMS power or LUF loudness. Additionally the gain adjustments can be faded in and out as required.
Cross-Fade allows you to adjust the fade in and out of a selection, or of the whole file. The options are No Cross-Fade, which does not apply any crossfade effect; Linear Cross-Fade, which applies the fade in a constant manner; and Sine Cross-Fade, which applies the fade base on the sine wave. The Fade-In and Fade-Out durations can be adjusted separately for each option.
